FOLKART ARDIC RESIDENCE
Designed by Dilekci Mimarlik / DDA in Izmir, the residence block’s form is shaped by the idea of protecting the juniper trees on the site.
Folkart Ardıç Residence is located in Çeşme, Izmir. The general design layout was created with the principle of building around it by preserving the juniper trees in the middle of the residential area. Juniper trees determined the form by diminishing the structure massively. The fragmentation of the mass effect the building’s appereance in the silhouette making the structure to be perceived as smaller.
The curvilinear parapets are designed with a geometry that cuts the visual relationship between the floors. The fluid geometric movements are designed in the form of leaves, trying to capture a formal continuity with the topographical morphology of the site. The geometry of the terraces consists of GFRC panels produced through 3D software.
