LAYERED FIGURES

Glass sculptor Danny Lane’s artwork 2 of One offers varying perceptions with its layered form.

Created for the Microsoft Research building in Cambridge the glass sculpture 2 of One is created by stacking glass panels in varying forms on top of a steel base. With its size of almost 3 meters height, and 270 cm width the artwork expresses two figures in a close-up tension of approaching and moving away from each other.

As one of the most well-known glass sculptors, Danny Lane works in various scales, from furniture to large scale spatial installations. The American born artist has been actively working in London since the 1980s and his works are being presented in museums and collections internationally.
